Robert McAvay, MBA, MSIS is a retired Navy veteran who earned his graduate degrees from Texas State University. He went through the VA claims process himself and knows firsthand how overwhelming it is. When most people would have moved on after retirement, Robert decided to dedicate himself to helping his fellow veterans get what they've earned. He's the Founder & CEO of Bravo Zulu, handling operations, client management, and making sure every veteran who walks through our door gets the care they deserve.
Margarita McAvay, MEd Psy, LCDC worked inside the VA for 18 years, in both the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) and Veterans Health Administration (VHA). She earned her graduate degree from Texas A&M University in College Station and has seen every side of the VA system: the policies, the paperwork, the loopholes, and most importantly, the veterans who get lost in it all. As Founder & Coach, Margarita is the one who listens to your story, reviews your medical records, writes your claim, and coaches you before your VA medical exams. She doesn't do this for a paycheck - she does it because she's watched too many veterans give up, and she refuses to let that happen.
Amanda McAvay is Robert and Margarita's daughter, and she's the heart of our day-to-day operations. As our administrator, she handles coaching sessions, client communications, emails, and paperwork with precision and care. Growing up in a military family and watching her parents dedicate their lives to helping veterans, Amanda understands what this mission means, and she brings that same commitment to every client she works with.
Together, we're a veteran-owned, family-run business with insider VA knowledge, personal military experience, and a genuine commitment to fighting for veterans who've already given enough.

In 2023, after years of Margarita helping veterans informally (often for free, always with care), a Major General sent her a challenge coin to thank her for her help. That gesture made it clear: this work was too important to remain a side effort. So Robert and Margarita made it official and founded Bravo Zulu.
